Pray for Our High Schoolers on Mission to San Francisco–as Well as the Passengers on Asiana Flight 214

My youth pastor, Steven Diaz, called and said that the flight for their high school missions trip to San Francisco was canceled due to a plane that crashed on one of the runways.

He wasn’t kidding.

Asiana Flight 214 from Seoul, South Korea, to San Francisco crash landed with 291 people on board.

Passengers who got off the plane told reporters they did not believe there were any fatalities. Images from the scene showed smoke billowing from the plane and emergency exits open from the plane’s fuselage, with the tail separated from the aircraft. Gaping holes could be seen in the roof of the plane’s body, blackened by fire.

Pray for the passengers, their families, and all those who are affected by canceled flights.  We live in a fallen world where things do not always go as we wish nor according to plan.  Pray God would continue to work through this, and through our youth who will likely head out Monday evening to have a shortened week.  May God given them strength for the task!
